This level of service has never been required on this contract and if vendors have to factor in twice daily pickup/transportation services that will result in excessive and overreaching charges to the Government especially for services that may never be required. A service level increase like this would best be handled via an amendment to the contract should it be required. Should vendors factor in this additional service model or will additional services be handled via a modification to the contract? No, this doesn’t have to be factored. Verbiage to be removed and modification to be completed if this service was to be required.

36. This contract will include the option to have pickups increased as needed to twice daily without an amendment to the contract to the medical center. Please provide clarification. Does this mean the truck to arrive at the medical facility twice daily to remove carts of used sharps containers or does this mean the service technician would service high use areas twice daily. Having a truck pickup carts twice a day would be an unfair exuberant additional cost to any vendor. – Additional pick-up verbiage to be removed. This verbiage was added for the activation of RMR and usage/need was unknown. We have an established schedule and have not had to have a 2nd pick-up.

37. The yellow containers are used for Pathological and Trace Chemotherapy waste streams. They are disposed of by incineration which is not in the same manner as your typical sharps. Are these container requests part of this Sharps Contract or is this an error? Is the requirement to dispose of all waste by incineration? If part of this contract, please provide 2 years of historical data pertaining to number, sizes, and weights of containers. – Yes, trace chemo container pick-up is part of this requirement. Chemo waste must be incinerated. 2 year historical data not available.

38. The black containers are typically for their hazardous medication waste. They are not disposed of in the same manner as your typical sharps. Are these container requests part of this Sharps Contract or is this an error? If part of this contract, please provide 2 years of historical data pertaining to number, sizes, and weights of containers. – Part of a separate contract.

39. Please confirm the Pueblo VA Community Living Center located at 2600 Oakshire Ln, Pueblo, CO 81001 is included on your current contract. Is this not to be included in the new contract? Pueblo Community Living Center to be included.

40. Please confirm the Golden Outpatient Clinic located at 1020 Johnson Rd., Golden, CO. 80401 which is not on the current contract will now be on the new contract? – No, Golden will not be on the new contract for Sharps.
