E-mailed results are acceptable to be sent to COR.
Section 2.1, 6 – Historically, what size bottles does the VA require? Does the VA staff collect ALL 30 samples in a single day?
Past history has been 250ml bottles. (by the other certified labs that we have used) Section 2.1, 9 – Can the government clarify that email is acceptable to provide a full report within 5 days of analysis?
Yes, the government will accept an e-mail report within 5 days of analysis to the COR.
Section 2.1, 10 – Can the government clarify if the contractor is only required to provide the sampling bottles and the VA provides all other supplies such as return overnight shipping to the laboratory?
Past history = the lab provides the bottles and the overnight return bottle per contract.
Section 2.1, last paragraph states “The contractor may also be tasked with taking the environmental water samples in the areas indicated on the attached site plan and photos, in addition to performing lab analysis of the samples for the detection of legionella.” Section 2.1 #6 states VA staff will collect samples. Can the government clarify this section? If this is required, please provide the site plan and photos referred to.
No Photos or site plans are required. The VA staff will collect samples.
Section 2.2 Deliverables - Can the government clarify what is meant by “inspections” and more thoroughly explain the report required “within 45 calendar days of inspection”? Are these the government’s inspections and reports? Or something the contractor provides?
Past history there has not ever been any inspections, thus no requirement for the 45-day part. The VA takes the samples and returns them to the lab.
