RFI #1
1. The Scope of Work states that this project is for “remodeling and expansion.” Does this mean expansion into existing space, or does this mean a building addition? It could mean either depending on how the selected A/E proposed to design the requirement once selected. The intent with this project is to only make the current space work.
Expansion means
2. Will the VA release a floor plan showing the area to be renovated and their intended area for the expansion? We are only asking for SF 330s to select the A/E firm once that is done and the RFP is issued to that A/E will specific questions be answered in regard to the project.
3. We didn’t notice any trauma bays mentioned, but the Scope of Work indicates that it is the Emergency Department which is in need of the renovation and expansion. Can we have clarification on how much of the ED is slated for renovation? We are only asking for SF 330s to select the A/E firm once that is done and the RFP is issued to that A/E will specific questions be answered in regard to the project.
4. Will the VA tell us the area (in square feet) of the area to be renovated and the amount of expansion? We are only asking for SF 330s to select the A/E firm once that is done and the RFP is issued to that A/E will specific questions be answered in regard to the project.
5. The Submission Requirements state that the 5 projects shown are “completed or substantially completed within the past five (5) years.” If the design phase is 95% - 100% complete, does that suffice?
We ask because we have several VA projects for which we have completed or are completing the construction documents, but these projects are either in construction now or are not slated for construction until FY 2020. A project 95-100% complete would qualify as substantial.
6. Will the GJ VAMC Urgent Care Building 1 Renovation project will require any building systems Commissioning (Cx) Services. Yes
7. Where in the 330 do the CPARS/PPQS go? Following each project included in Section F or all together as an appendix at the end of 330? PPQ and CPARS are a separate submittal requirement and not part of the 30 page limit.
8. Do the following count toward the 30-page limit? Cover, Cover Letter, Table of Contents. Yes
