Summary: Notice of Intent to Sole Source
This is a Notice of Intent to Sole Source from the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 17 (VISN 17) regarding PM AC3 Pinnacle Balloon Pumps. The document announces the VA's intent to award a sole source contract for the procurement of these specialized medical devices without conducting a competitive bidding process. The notice indicates that VISN 17 has determined that only one source is capable of supplying the PM AC3 Pinnacle Balloon Pumps to meet the Veterans Health Administration's requirements, likely based on unique technical specifications, existing standardization within VA facilities, or demonstrated clinical necessity for this particular device model.
The solicitation (36C25726Q0902) serves as notification to potential interested parties of the VA's procurement action. This type of notice provides an opportunity for other vendors to submit a statement of capability or challenge the sole source determination during a specified period, typically allowing 10 days or more from publication for interested parties to respond before the VA proceeds with the sole source award. The notice initiates the formal procurement process and establishes a public record of the VA's acquisition intent for this medical equipment.
