RFQ 36C25724Q0999- CTX Water Quality Monitoring
Amendment #0001 Questions and Answers
Q1: 1. Are we being able to bid for the replacement/installation of the current supplemental advanced monitoring system, which would include the maintenance and parts as well. If so, can we request an extension?
A1: This contract is to maintain the current systems in place, not install new ones. We will only install new ones if the system is deemed beyond economical repair. The replacement would then be with the same style/type of monitoring system we are currently using. The awarded vendor will need the capabilities to maintain the equipment in place. The only piece of equipment that needs to be replaced is the PDX, and that is only if the vendor does not partner with Phigenics. Quote due date extension will not be granted.
Q2: SOW, Section D. 5., please confirm what is being requested:
• In-Field Dip Slides for VA Personnel? If so, these do not require any shipment to labs because they are intended to be for instant field test results. I believe this is what they are looking for.
• Water sample bottles so VA Personnel can collect Heterotrophic Plate Count analyses themselves and ship them overnight to a laboratory for analysis?
• Also, please confirm that they are requesting In-Field Dip Slides for Heterotrophic Aerobic Bacteria, not Anaerobic.
A2: VA is required to do the legionella and HPC samples in the cooling towers. These samples will be taken by VA personnel and the Contractor shall provide the water sample bottle kits, overnight return shipping, lab analysis, and any training needed to ensure VA personnel can take the samples proficiently in conjunction with a routine site visit.
Confirming In-Field Dip Slides for Heterotrophic Aerobic Bacteria. The SOW has been updated and will be included in the contract when awarded.
Q3: There is no line item in the cost schedule for vendors to provide a price for replacement of PDX (if vendor is replacing). Would you like us to provide the cost associated on write-up or add the price on schedule?
A3: Price/Cost schedule has been revised to include a LIN for replacement of PDX. This should only be used if vendor intends to replace this part.
Q4: What analyses should be included within "minerals" and "metals" mentioned in section E.1., Inorganics to include Minerals, Metals, Nitrates, Nitrites, Asbestos, Cyanide, Fluoride, Arsenic, Chlorite, Total Trihalomethanes (TTHM) and Haloacetic Acids (HAA5) (Disinfection Byproducts)?
A4: Analyses should include water chemistry panels and SDWA compliance testing. VA reserves the right to add additional water testing when state or Federal requirements change.
Q5: Are providing Dip Slides for In-Field Heterotrophic Plate Count/Aerobic Bacteria tests enough to satisfy requirement at E.5.? They would not require shipment to labs because results are fast and simple
A5: VA is required to do the legionella and HPC samples in the cooling towers. These samples will be taken by VA personnel and the Contractor shall provide the water sample bottle kits, overnight return shipping, lab analysis, and any training needed to ensure VA personnel can take the samples proficiently in conjunction with a routine site visit.
