36C25723Q0741 - Data Cabling Contract

1. Are we to dispose/abate of any asbestos, lead, mold or other hazardous material as part of this project? If so, provide appropriate hazardous material site survey report.-No, if asbestos is present in the wall, the facility will take care of it.

2. What will the ICRA level be for this project? ICRA’s are not typically used when doing the data cabling. The cutting into the wall will be minimal. If it is a location where there are compromised patients, an ICRA will be provided.

3. Are there any required/proprietary subcontractors the general contractor is to hire associated with this project? No.

4. Will all work associated with this project able to be performed during regular working hours? Unless the location is the OR, most work will be performed during working hours.

Jobs will be coordinated with the end user if need be to access locations.

5. It is our understanding that the Solicitation is a negotiated Bid (RFP) design-bid-build project with the Government's AE being responsible for the design portion (providing a full and complete set of Specifications and Plans) and the successful offeror being responsible for bidding and building the project based on the Specifications and Plans provided by the Government's AE. Put another way, the successful offeror will not be required to perform any design-build services as part of the contract - correct? Correct.

The purpose of this contract is to be able to take care of work orders submitted in STVHCS for running data lines from point A to point B.

6. How many floors at the facility will this project cover. All floors in the Main hospital Audie, as well as all floors in Kerrville and all CBOCS.

7. Are there any areas excluded from this project. No

8. Will it be wall drops only? No

9. If not exclusive to wall drops. What other systems will be affected by this project.

i.e.: cameras, doors, IStar, antenna or pneumatics, Wireless Access Points in addition. If data lines will need to be run for these systems, they will be affected.

10. Will there be any medical equipment that will need new data drops. More than Likely.

11. Will there be any critical areas that require special access. Yes, either the Police, Biomed or the service will be able to access these areas.

12. Will there be any areas with time limitations on hours of work. Only in the morning / Only in the afternoon / After 4 or 4:30 pm / or later? Yes, but these areas will be coordinated with the end user.

13. What type of cable: Cat 6, Cat6a, Cat5e? Cat6A preferably, but Cat 6 minimum.

14. Plenum or PVC type Cable, Plenum is preferred, but not required.

15. What type of ceiling, sheetrock, lift out tile, 2x4 or 2x2, etc. Most ceilings are pop -up tiles. Sizes vary from 2x2 to 2x4.

16. Is there any inullation (insulation) batting above the ceiling? Yes, in certain areas.

17. How high are the ceilings? What is the typical ceiling height for all locations? The average height is 9 ½ feet.

18. Will we need a dust buggy for accessing ceiling in hospital areas? Yes, any debris that happens to fall from the ceiling or be tracked out of the interstitial will need to be cleaned up.

19. What would be the average cable length for workstation to the wiring closet. Length is to not exceed 300 feet.

20. Are you only looking for end to end termination of cables from workstation to patch panel? No, Cable from the patch panel to the wall plate, or biscuit for WAPs.

21. Will we be working in occupied areas, i.e. nurse stations, patient rooms, hallways. Yes, and any work that will be done in patient areas will need to be scheduled.

22. Is there an incumbent who has been providing this service? No.

23. If so, what is the most recent contract (award) number and amount? Contract 36C25721P1322 - STX Network Infrastructure.

24. Is there a list of existing product/system brands we are to use? For example:

CommScope, LanStar, Belden or Krone. Panduit Mini Com for patch panels and mod connectors , and cable brand doesn’t really matter as long as it’s CAT6.

25. What is the distance of cabling we should include in each drop? Distance depends on the location of the room and the location of the IDF closet that the cable will be ran to.

Distance not to exceed 300’ per drop.

26. What type of wire should we include? CAT 6A preferred but CAT 6 minimum.

27. The description says 3500 annual drops but the CLIN mentions 290 Qty. Please clarify.

3500 is the estimated annual number of drops and 290 is the estimated monthly drops.

Contractor will invoice monthly, based on the # of drops requested and completed for that month. The estimated numbers are required and gives all offerors a baseline for calculating and submitting their quotes based on the 290 monthly.

28. Will there be a walk through? Yes, Tuesday, May 2 at 10 am.

29. Are you specifying CAT 6 or 6A? Please confirm. CAT 6A preferred but CAT 6 minimum.
