Questions from Vendors

Are there any drawings of the facility areas referenced in the solicitation, that will allow for a more accurate footprint and visual where the PACS system will be installed? See attachments.

1. Page 14 of 84 1.a says “cafeteria doors”. Is that one single door or multiple cafeteria doors, like the north side, east side, etc. ? That is on many doors they list on that page.

a. 1.d has quantity 2 on doors, so I is it correct to assume that 1.a and 1.b are simple one door?

b. Another example is 1.b says “generator yard gates” Is that a single reader or many gates?

2. There are multiple “door” vs “doors” references – please provide specific #s with it’s associated floor/area/door or gate.

See attached A

3. Elevators – there are 14 elevators and not sure how many elevator control rooms. The assumption would be: 2 elevators per elevator control rooms so we can put the equipment associated with the elevator in the control room. We of course only want equipment associated with those elevators in that control room. So again, they have 14 elevators and we are guessing 2 elevators per control room and wanted to confirm the number of control rooms in order to be accurate.

a. Secondly with that is the elevator company will have to land the wires from the REB8 relays. Will the VA provide that connection/tie-in, or does the contractor include that task in our quote?

b. Example: The standard solution is an MX-1-ME with an REB8 inside for each elevator, thus clarification is requested to ensure accuracy and specific tech data from the VA.

14 control rooms

4. CAMERAS – Please quantify the number of cameras, as well as the areas the cameras will be located

a. Types of cameras are known, but only have a reference to “2nd floor interior”. How many cameras is that?

b. Another example is reference to 4k, 3 lens and 4 lens multisensory cameras and no idea where they want those – or the quantities?

See attached B

5. LYNX PANIC SYSTEM – There is no layout of how many panics they want. All of the equipment they list is head in type stuff, but no mention of actual panic buttons anywhere.

a. Example: lYNX-USB panics that are USB to a computer.

b. Example: Wireless indoor like LYNX-WLT-IDPNC-2 or LYNX-WLT-PANIC-A, etc.

i. There are a lot of types however, locations where required are requested, with specific additional detail.

See attached C

6. NAPCO – This requirement calls out for perimeter doors, roof doors and glass breaks.

a. Request drawings and identification of where do the VA wants to located keypads and places to arm/disarm.

See attached D

7. On the Description of Work for Identiv/Hirsch Systems there are many doors listed. However, on some sections they say “door” and others “doors” or “gates” Are we to assume these are all single reader doors or are there multiple entrances? See attached A

8. The scope lists cameras, but not how many, which kinds are needed where? Just gives part numbers and it can be one of each to 50 of each See attached B

9. Lynx panic same thing as the cameras. Gives all head end and repeater equipment list, but no panic buttons or locations. Please provide locations and info on panic buttons. See attached C

10. Napco alarm says glass breaks and perimeter doors. Although a drawing is wanted, we can at least get perimeter door counts easily, however where do they want keypads? What areas are what and will be turned on and armed? See attached D

11. So drawings and a design would sure help or is this more of a design build where we tell them how many and where do we recommend things? It doesn't say that, so kind of lost. See attached please find the drawings.

12. Does this indicate to us that installing the access controls in the elevators is part of this job? Yes, it does.

13. Due to licensing of elevators, I believe an elevator company would have to provide the install of our equipment? It’s up to the GC.

14. Are we just supplying the control parts for the elevators, and the VA is using a different contract for them? No, the VA doesn’t have a different contract for the elevators

15. Are we expected under this contract to hire the elevator guys and complete the install? Yes, the GC is expected to supply and complete the installation

16. If so is there a specific vendor the VA has hired for the building for elevator mx etc? No, the Garland VA MC does not have a specific elevator vendor for this project.
