March 2010 Q 36C25719Q0905 Locum Tenens Primary Care -West TX VA HCS Amendment to Post Questions and Answers 79936 36C25719Q0905 08-23-2019 N 621111 Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 17 11495 Turner Road El Paso, TX 79936 Christine Bennett Christine.Bennett2@va.gov The purpose of this Amendment is to post the questions and answers that were received from potential offerors. Please see the Questions and Answers compiled below.
Big Spring Locum Tenens – Primary Care Providers Questions and Answers
1. Please let us know if there are incumbent providers in place? And who is the incumbent contracting company? Can you provide any financial data about the current contract value?
0. Currently we do not have a provider in place and we will not comment about the current contact value.
1. Will the facility consider providers that don’t have urgent care experience?
1. We will consider candidates with General medicine experience.
1. Will the facility consider candidates that can only commit to 3 months of service at a time?
2. We will consider candidates that can fulfill the minimum contract time of 6 months.
1. What is the average patient volume for each facility?
3. On a daily basis the Locum Provider can expect to see between 18-25 patients.
1. Do providers have to be willing to go to any of the three locations, or will the government consider providers that will only commit to one or two of the locations?
4. In the event of an unscheduled outage by a provider in one of the other locations a provider may be required to service patients via CVT(Video), and only in an extreme and unforeseen situation would we request a provider to serve in an alternate location and the duration would be in the most minimal timeframe until the emergency is solved.
1. Is letter of intent from candidates to be included with proposal?
5. Yes, a letter of intent with the proposal is encouraged.
1. I was just looking through this SOW and the 3 locations are about 2 hours apart. Do they just go where they are assigned, or can they request/ask for a specific location?
6. We will attempt to accommodate preference with regards to location, however, the ultimate assignment location decision rests on the ACOS of Ambulatory Care with feedback from the Chief of Staff.
1. Location: can providers state which clinic/location they are available to work in? We have spoken with several physicians who have interest in working at a singular/specific location (ie San Angelo or Abilene) due to the proximity to their home. They would like to be submitted for those sites specifically, so I’m hoping to confirm if candidates will need to be required to have availability to work at any of the needed locations in VISN 17, or if they can specify.
7. We will make every attempt to accommodate preferences in location, but we are unable to make any specific guarantees. Please note that our Veteran’s healthcare is main focus in all decisions. In some cases, providers may be required to assist at other locations, but the primary mode of care would be via CVT. Only in extreme circumstances would a Provider be required to assist at another location, and every measure will be taken to ensure that time assisting at another location will be minimal.
1. Charting: are providers allowed to stay after their shift in order to complete charts, or possibly given access from remote locations to complete over the weekend? Several providers have said they would not expect payment for the additional charting hours but would like to ensure they’ll have additional time to complete charting in an appropriate timeframe.
8. All attempts must be made to complete charting within the hours of operations, but there are situations when additional time is needed/required beyond clinic operation hours to complete direct Veteran care.
1. Call coverage / call back coverage required for this position?
9. No
