STATEMENT OF WORK

Steam System Heat Exchanger Temple VA Engineering Service

General Description

The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision and all other resources required to purchase, deliver and install the following requirements:

1. Replace existing Taco E14212-S1C1AT00 Heat Exchanger in Bldg. 205.

2. Replace existing Taco TAce10206-S Heat Exchanger in Bldg. 163 Messamine

3. Replace 2 existing Taco TAcE8204-S Heat Exchangers in Bldg. 171

4. Replace existing 6 inch OS&Y gate valve on main steam line in Bldg. 163 (A5)

5. Replace and or repair main steam line underground in mechanical room Bldg. 202

6. Replace existing Neal E14212-S1C1AT00 heat exchanger in Bldg. 163 rm. BC150.

7. Replace existing Taco E10212-S4A1AT00 heat exchanger in Bldg. 63 messamine.

The contractor shall be familiar with all the terms, conditions, and requirements herein contained with warranty items and conditions. All equipment delivered shall be done during a schedule time coordinated with the VA COR due to the patient care areas that are affected by heavy traffic vehicles.

Project Requirements

1. Purchase and install steam parts or equivalent items listed above.

1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

1.1.1 The contractor shall purchase, and deliver the equipment to respective locations located at 1901 Veterans Memorial Dr., Temple, Texas 76504.

1.1.2 Contractor is responsible for verifying make and model of equipment being replaced.

1.1.3 Work will be conducted one building at a time in phases to ensure COR oversees each phase of repair.

1.1.4 Steam must be maintained during normal operations. When steam shut down is required prior coordination will be made with the Engineering Department.

1.1.5 All repairs will be included shutoff /bypass valves.

2. The contractor shall deliver and install 1 Heat Exchangers, and reinsulate on main steam line.

1.1.6 Work will be conducted between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm CST., during normal working hours, Monday through Friday, unless otherwise specified or agreed upon by the contractor and the COR Point of Contact(POC).

1.1.7 Under no circumstances will modifications to the equipment be performed without written consent of the Contracting Officer and the VA COR.

1.1.8 The contractor shall notify the VA Government Contracting Officer and POC for any deviations from this Statement of Work (SOW).

1.1.9 The contractor shall coordinate the delivery date with COR POC at 254-743-1529 office or 254-251-7971 Cell.

2. SPECIFICATIONS

2.1 Purchase all Heat Exchangers listed above, valves, steam line and insulation to make necessary repairs.

2.2 Deliver: all materials will be supplied by the contractor and installed.

2.3 Heat Exchanger will be isolated and shut down to prevent damage to the system and ability to replace Heat Exchangers

2.4 Remove existing heat exchanger, and reinsulate lines that has damaged insulation.

2.5 Install heat exchanger while maintaining an operational heating system.

2.6 Existing Heat Exchanger to remain on site at Bldg. #62.

2.7 Must meet specs provided; no substations authorized

3. Phases to repair/replace existing equipment

Phase 1:

Remove insulation from (HE) and pipe to shut off valves.

Phase 2:

Prep site

Install necessary hoist systems to remove (HE)

Phase 3:

Isolate (HE) and shut down.

Disconnect supply and return heating water lines and remove system.

Disconnect steam line and condensate return line

Replace Butterfly/gate or ball valves to (HE) system

Disconnect (HE) from system.

Remove (HE)

Install new (HE) and make necessary connections with new gaskets

Using Factory Start-up put (HE) back into operations

Clean strainers on steam lines and replace gaskets

Phase 4:

Reinsulate (HE) and steam, heating water supply and return lines all the way back to shut off valves and any other damaged insulation on system being repaired

Remove all support systems.

Existing (HE) is to remain on site at Bldg. 62

Clean and remove all debris

All metal left on site and recycled through VA recycle program.
