Statement of Work (SOW)
Two (2) Electric Powered Delivery Trucks Brand Name or Equal to MotoEV Industrial Buddy 2 Passenger Delivery (EIB-2PD)
1. Objective. Alexandria VA Health Care System is seeking a contractor to provide two (2) two passenger electric powered delivery trucks equipped with a cargo box and hydraulic lifts.
2. Background: Nutrition and Food Service delivers food to veterans on a daily basis and needs delivery vehicles in which a WG 3 Food Service Worker and above can operate as well as reliable vehicles for transport. The current delivery trucks require a Wage Grade 5, Motor Vehicle Operator (MVO) to operate the vehicle and the position must carry a Class D driver’s license in order to operate the vehicle. Due to critical staffing shortage in Nutrition and Food Service, a Wage Grade 5 MVO may not be available to operate the vehicle; which can cause issues in meeting the nutritional needs of the veteran in a timely manner and also put the facility in a vulnerable position if the temporary driver does not meet all requirements. The requested electric vehicles require a Wage Grade 3 and above which is more efficient with staff utilization. A Class D driver’s license is not required operating the electric vehicles. We are requesting new delivery trucks to transport heavy patient tray delivery food carts to the patient care areas from the outlying nutrition and food service building.
