Questions and Answers 1 thorugh 8 Solicitation 36C25626Q0164
Question 1: We are interested in bidding on the Home Sleep Apnea Test solicitation and wanted to know if there is an incumbent. If so, is it the same size and scope?
Government’s response 1: The incumbent is VETERANS HEALTHCARE SUPPLY SOLUTIONS, INC. The previous contract 36C25625P0977 was for a scope of 500 tests over the period of 05-28-2025 through 10-31-2025.
Question 2: Does the VA require access to cloud-based software to retrieve the data, or can it be pushed to them via encrypted email or file sharing platform?
Government’s response 2: Yes, we will need access to VA approved, cloud-based software to assure that our VA Sleep providers at another facility can access the studies once completed to interpret. In the event that they are no longer able to assist, we need the ability to add interpretations to the contract in which transmission is done securely and according to VA guidelines.
Question 3: Is patient support, education, prompting expected to be done via phone?
Government’s response 3: Yes
Question 4: Is the contractor able to invoice the VA for unreturned devices?
Government’s response 4: No
Question 5: Is the use of PAT (Peripheral Arterial Tonometry) specifically required, or will non-proprietary PPG-based systems that meet or exceed all other listed performance characteristics be accepted as “equal” under this solicitation?
Government’s response 5: Non-proprietary PPG-based systems that meet or exceed all listed performance characteristics, to include what Peripheral Arterial Tonometry offers will be accepted as equal under this solicitation.
Question 6: Is interpretation of the sleep studies included in this RFP work or are VA physicians completing the interpretations?
Government’s response 6: VA physicians will be completing the interpretations, interpretation of the sleep studies is not included in this RFQ work.
Question 7: Are you wanting these all to be delivered to the VA or as written per each request for each unit as requested?
Government’s response 7: Devices will be ordered on each patient and vendor will be responsible for shipping device to the Veteran and educating the Veteran on how to properly use the device. No equipment will be delivered to the VA.
Question 8: For Solicitation # 36C25626Q0164, is there any other acceptable way of providing the VA with the interpreted final sleep study results besides cloud-based upload? For example, Fax or upload via portal , access can also be given to our EMR system, Brightree
Government’s response 8: As interpretation is not a part of this contract and VA will be providing the interpretations, both the requesting VA and interpretating VA need access to the sleep study results once the study is completed by the patient, so that interpretation and follow up can be done accordingly. Due to multiple facilities being involved, it is ideal that there be a central, secure location for the data to be accessed, interpreted and processed.
