Answer
1) Estimated Project Cost (ROM)?
The magnitude of construction is between $100K-$250K.
2) Any historic preservation considerations for Bldg. 14?
No. Although, the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) was involved in the Replace Boiler Plant project (502-14-102V) and they focused on preserving the roof tiles and windows. It is very unlikely that the installation of the soft water system will impact the building from a historical standpoint.
3) What is the approximate sq ft size of the area to be surveyed for abatement, decontamination
2,000 sq ft or no more than one of the sides of the boiler plant building. This is based upon the soft water system needing to be installed outside with the pipe penetrations into one of the Sides/walls of the building. The AE is required to determine the best location for the system for ease of access, maintenance, etc
4) The design requirement mentions addressing water infiltration, leaks, cracks, etc. Is this only for work area or for all of Bldg. 14?
Only for the work area.
