I.

Statement of Work Overton Brooks VAMC has a requirement to upgrade the existing exhaust fan system that serves six infectious isolation rooms in the main hospital, building 1. The upgrade must include a new fan system with a lead/lag backup system and a bag-in bag out HEPA filter and pre filter prior to the fan inlet. Provide filters and filter house as specified in project drawings. Provide new variable frequency drives, electrical disconnects, and circuit breakers for each system. Provide actuated shutoff air damper to allow servicing on the lead/lag system while the online system continues to operate. Provide all supports describe in the project drawing to include exhaust fan roof curbs, VFD and disconnect supports, walkway pads, and exhaust fan duct guy wire and connections. Maintain existing manufacturer roof warranty during construction work and keep roofing system watertight. The new exhaust system must be tied to the building automation system to allow remote monitoring and control from the boiler plant. Provide local BAS controller on roof with LED display to allow adjustments to be made on rooftop.

Execute the phasing plan as described in the project drawings. Phasing must minimize disruption to patient care. Test and balance the air as describe in the ventilation schedule while maintaining room pressurizations. Room pressure is priority over airflow. The exhaust is sized for normal operation and future operation. TAB contractor must set the system to satisfy the airflow and pressure requirements indicated in the TAB plan. Contractor to implement all control strategies described in the control drawings while the TAB witness correct operation.

All work must be performed as specified herein and shall be in accordance with all applicable codes indicated in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Design Manuals and any other applicable codes. Outages will be coordinated two weeks in advance of the required outage. The hospital may relocate patients when change overs and TAB for new exhaust systems are required.
