- I'm reaching out to see if the provision of a rodent control device - called the Goodnature A24 -would be suitable for this opportunity. I'm Jeff and my company does not provide rodent control services or IPM, but many government organizations like NPS, WAPA and FWS have purchased and deployed our A24 with incredible success. The A24 is an indoor/outdoor Rat &
Mouse Trap with superb design. It uses CO2 to power a humane but swift strike automatically resetting after each kill. Additionally, the A24 attracts rats and mice without the use of toxins with our toxin-free chocolate lure. It is trapping made safe, easy, humane, automatic and non-toxic! Set it and forget it for 24, non-toxic quick kills!!!

Scope Questions:
- Work hours are stated to be no less than 5 days per week and 4 hours per day. The pest control experts that we have communicated with feel this is an unnecessary requirement. Our team is planning to submit a comprehensive pest control plan with a general schedule of all services that requires no more than 2 or 3 days on-site per week. Is it the intent of this contract for the VA to have a full time (approx. 40hrs/wk.) pest control specialist on-site at the New Orleans VA Medical Center?
- The contractor shall comply with the works hours specified in the Statement of Work, paragraph
2.1. NOTE: 5 days per week and 4 hours per day takes into consideration the SLVHCS and all buildings at Project Legacy and all CBOCs.
- I could not find attachment A that was listed in the back of the SOW. Can the VA please provide this document?
- Attachment A is identified on page 6 of 6.
- Does the VA require any specific pest inspection requirements, and if so how frequently?
- In accordance with paragraph 3.3.1, the contractor shall inspect to determine pest management measures are appropriate and required.
- If chemicals are required to treat or prevent any bug infestations, will the VA be responsible for relocating food, equipment, tools, etc from areas that require chemical application?
- The VA will be responsible for relocating Government property from areas that require chemical application.
- Does the VA have an inventory of current pest control measures at this campus?
- Will the contractor be able to reuse existing bait boxes on campus?
- Does the VA currently have any known pest infestations on this campus?
- None
- Has the VA ever had an active pest infestation on this campus?
- Does the VA know of any areas on this campus that are at risk for future pest infestations?
- The research will need to be evaluated under a separate quote submitted for contract.
- The SOW does not specifically identify the need for bed bug or termite pest control but the price schedule does. Can the VA please detail the concerns and requests regarding bed bug and termite pest control/prevention?
- Please review paragraph 3.3 for information concerning bedbugs and 3.4 for termites. New
Orleans is a vulnerable area for termites.
- Would the Government please advise if all “emergencies” are to be performed at no additional cost to the Government?
- Please include in your quote the cost for emergencies as an inclusive cost.
- Would the government please advise if LA pest control licensing requirements can be satisfied via subcontractors?
- If the subcontractor is the only one treating the area.
- Would the government please provide the total of emergency call orders over the last 3 months?
- Fifteen (15)
- Would the government please advise if the prime contractor will be permitted to subcontract 100% of the performance requirements?
- Would the government please advise if the scope of work (SOW) has changed for this requirement relative to the current contract? (for example: service frequency and hours, buildings serviced, are emergency call orders included in current contract at no additional cost to the government, etc.?)
- Please read the scope of work for this requirement.
- What is the present number of Fly Lights at the VAMC? Does the government expect these lights to be replaced by the awarded contractor?
- The contractor will have to complete an assessment of the areas and determine the total number of fly lights that will be needed and yes they will have to provide fly lights to the areas.
- Please clarify the scope of work, as the prebid meeting stated daily service is needed, yet solicitation shows monthly.
- The solicitation states the pest controller is required to be on site five days a week.
- Please clarify the buildings in scope as additional clinics were discussed at the prebid meeting.
- Please see Attachment A
- How many large fly lights do you have on campus?
- Please budget for how many you think will be needed for a site this size, based on the site visit.
- How many bed bug incidents do you have each year? How many of these were “after hours” For termites, the request is to provide pricing for baiting and spot treatments. This would not need to be done weekly. For buildings needing treatment, can the linear footage be provided or can we quote with price per linear foot.
- 150
- Will the price sheet be revised to align with scope of work?
- The scope of work aligns with the price sheet
- Would the government please define/clarify what is considered a valid "emergency" per the
SOW requirements in detail? For example, all patient care/critical areas or any emergency per the COR, EMS chief or his or her designee?
- Please budget for 159 calls for emergency call backs each year
