36C25621Q0493 Valet Parking Questions
Question#1. What is the daily volume of vehicles we are required to service? This is the most important factor in determining required staffing and cost.
Response#1. Approximately 1000
Question#2. What percentage or number of the daily volume is disabled or requires an assisted device?
Response#2. Approximately 40%
Question#3. Given the time required to drive to/from lot W from the main entrance area is
3-4 minutes with no traffic, will the VA adjust the service levels to 15-20 minutes? Ten minutes is very reasonable at most VAMC valet operations when the designated parking area is nearby, but not when it is nearly 1/2 mile away with multiple intersections and stops. Ten minutes might be possible, but will require very high staffing levels and be very expensive. (Also, paragraph 19 (1) states '5 minutes'. Please ensure the time requirement is consistent in the PWS.)
Response#3. No, it shall remain 10 minutes not to exceed more than 12 minutes, unless of course there is inclement weather. Paragraph 19 (1) is now changed from 5 minutes to 10 minutes not to exceed more than 12 minutes.
Question#4. Will the valet greeting area remain in its current location near the main entrance?
Response#4. Yes
Question#5. Will there be only one valet greeting area?
Response#5. No, Valet II is located at the Spinal Cord (SCI) entrance. We toured the area yesterday.
Question#6. Paragraph 6.2 states 'if deemed necessary by the MEDVAMC'. Under what circumstances would that take effect?
Response#6. This would happen if/when all parking spaces are being utilized
Question#7. Paragraph 9.4 states 'Non-handicap vehicles shall be parked on the designated parking slots.' In which parking lot are the 'designated parking slots'?
Response#7. Parking lot W or R5
Question#8. Is an incumbent contractor currently performing these services, if similar services have been performed in the past, or if this is a new requirement?
Response#8. An incumbent contractor is currently performing these services.
Question#9. If this is a follow-on requirement, could you please provide the previous contract or task order number?
Response#9 The previous contract VA256-15-C-0047
