1. Is it possible to have another site visit to measure the dimensions of the lights?

No.

2. Measure the current fixtures to verify that the new fixtures will fit into the existing space.

See attachment “VHSO OR Lights Measurements.” Note: the measurements are an approximation and as stated in SOW… “Contractor is responsible to verify existing and new dimensions, locations, measurements, and quantities.”

3. Specification Section 26 55 71 – “Medical and Surgical Lighting Fixtures”: Calls for surgical lights and describes them. The RFP (Page 7 of 79, Paragraph 2 – Describes standard 2’ x 4’ lights in the ceiling. What type of lights are supposed to be installed on this project?

As stated in SOW.... “The SOW includes but is not limited to remove and properly dispose of existing ceiling light fixtures (2’x4’ Troffer) and associated components to include but not limited to conduit, conductors, control switches and fixture whips, and to install new Surgical Suite Luminaires (SSL)(2’x4’) and associated components to include but not limited to conduit, conductors, control switches, and fixture whips.”

As stated in SOW…. “To install new SSLs – 2’ x 4’ luminaires, control switches, fixture whips, flexible conduits, and all associated components to include but is not limited to conduit and conductors. SSL must be Kenall MedMaster M4SEDI24 200L-40K9 white LED series designed and manufactured for surgical room application, one-piece sealed housing, conducted emissions controls as per MIL-STD-461F, standard 0-10V dimming, asymmetric optic diffused DR Acrylic, 90 CRI, white lamp color, 200 Watt LED or equal.”

5. In the statement of work it states: to install new Surgical Suite Luminaires (SSL)(2’x4’) and associated components to include but not limited to conduit, conductors, control switches, and fixture whips.

Do we need to replace the conduit? This will change the magnitude of this job due to have to cut into the wall to replace the conduit.

Conduit does not need to be replaced as long as it is in good physical condition, meets National Electrical Code requirements, each SSL has a functional layout above ceiling as per manufacture’s installation instruction, and meets VHSO specifications.

As per SOW, fixture whips must be replaced.

6. In the statement of work it states:

Contractor must furnish “As Built” drawings to include but is not limited to electrical, mechanical, and architectural prior to closeout. Drawings must be in electronic form in latest edition of AutoCAD (.dwg) and stored on cd(s).

Will the original mechanical drawings be provided? There is no architectural change the only changes will be to the lighting fixtures with type no change in location do you want just a legend plan change?

VHSO has supplied what drawings could be located. Please see attached drawings 1H8 DUCTWORK 3RD FLR, 1-E_0011, and 1-E_0012. Note: as stated in SOW… “Contractor is responsible to verify existing and new dimensions, locations, measurements, and quantities.”

Since there is no architectural change(s), no legend plan change is needed.

7. Can confirm that the A, B, C, and D are the separate ORs and a quantity of one (1) for each “type” listed in 26 55 71 Medical and Surgical Lighting Fixtures Spec Part 2, Para 2.2 is what’s being requested for the Surgical Lights?

26 55 71 Medical and Surgical Lighting Fixtures Spec Part 2, Para 2.2 is a standard part of the specifications. The SOW states “remove and properly dispose of existing ceiling light fixtures (2’x4’ Troffer)….” and seen on drawing “Bldg1 3rd Floor OR Lights Model2” as seen as the black rectangles.
