Questions from bidders
Response

Is the estimated 54 case volume per year what you are still expecting from the urologists and are hoping to have pricing contracted based on that volume?

The contract will be an IDIQ contract based on estimated quantities. The estimate provided is based on an annual estimate and cannot be guaranteed.

How does your scheduling currently work in contacting outside vendors to come in and provide mobile services? Is it through the urology clinic or is it through the surgery scheduling team with lead time being provided before the case date?

We schedule usually via the urology clinic- we typically plan for the 4th Tuesday of each month. We of course need a scheduling # to contact the vendor, but the vendor’s usually have that calendar day marked for service here at MEDVAMC, and treat all day, as many cases as we have.

Contract is to be awarded December 2018 so will service start January 2019?

The effective date of the Contract Award will be 01/01/19.

Can you explain what ‘Additional ESWL Services – (90 day)’ means
Additional treatment within ninety (90) days from his/her initial procedure due to continued problems with the stone(s), i.e., stone(s) was not broken down small enough to pass or fragments of the stone(s) remain.
What is the response time for emergency services
Not applicable to this requirement. All procedures are scheduled.

Is there a process in place to ensure it was not equipment related for the following paragraph on page 15.

If a veteran must undergo an additional treatment within ninety (90) days from his/her initial procedure due to continued problems with the stone(s), i.e., stone(s) was not broken down small enough to pass or fragments of the stone(s) remain, the contractor will provide the treatment at 50% of the contract price.

No specific process- Their technical employee should be present to ensure there is no user error

Do you have a census of how many cases you performed last year
45-50 Cases
