About this file

This is a Sources Sought Notice issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office (NCO) 15 for market research and planning purposes. The solicitation, numbered 36C25526R0071, seeks information regarding the INARI FlowTriever/ClotTriever Mechanical Thrombectomy Systems for potential procurement as an Indefinite Quantity Indefinite Delivery (IDIQ) contract with a base period plus four option years. Responses are due by February 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM Central Time, and will be archived 45 days after the response date. The contracting office is located in Leavenworth, Kansas (zip code 66048), with the place of performance at St. Louis VA Medical Center John Cochran Division in St. Louis, Missouri. The point of contact is Contracting Officer Denise Maynard (denise.maynard@va.gov). The Product Service Code is 6515 and the NAICS code is 339112.

The FlowTriever and ClotTriever systems are disposable, single-use mechanical devices designed to remove large clot burdens from the lungs or other large vessels in patients suffering from pulmonary embolism (PE) or deep vein thrombosis (DVT). These systems operate as mechanical solutions without requiring thrombolytic drugs, thereby reducing bleeding risks. The scope includes eight FlowTriever Aspiration Systems and various ClotTriever catheters, sheaths, RevCore Thrombectomy Devices, Protrieve Sheaths, and InThrill Thrombectomy Catheters in specified quantities. Procedures using these systems typically last 60 to 90 minutes and provide immediate improvement in patient vital signs while eliminating the need for secondary procedures and extended ICU monitoring associated with thrombolytic therapy.

DESCRIPTION

Scope of Work

INARI FlowTriever/ClotTriever Mechanical Thrombectomy Systems

Indefinite Quantity Indefinite Delivery (IDIQ) contract with a base period plus four option years.

The INARI FlowTriever and ClotTriever are disposable, single use systems that are primarily used to remove large clot burdens from the lungs or other large vessels of patients suffering from pulmonary embolism (PE) or deep vein thrombosis (DVT). These systems are designed to be solely mechanical solutions to Venous Thrombo-embolism, and do not require any additional devices. This design avoids the use of thrombolytic drugs, which have inherent bleeding risks and decrease in effectiveness as clot rapidly ages. Catheters are able to navigate tortuous anatomy allowing physicians quicker access to embolisms. Flowtriever and ClotTriever catheters have nitinol disks that are designed with laser cut elements and open cell design to engage and disrupt clots mechanically. In addition, the Flowsaver blood return is designed to reduce blood loss by filtering aspirated thrombi for blood reinfusion back to the patient.

The FlowTriever/ClotTriever systems will be used during short, single session procedures

(approximately 60 to 90 minutes long) to capture and remove large volumes of clot burden. The clot is quickly and effectively removed, which eliminates the need for thrombolytics that increase the risk of bleeding and the subsequent ICU stay to monitor the patient during the 12-to-24-hour thrombolysis period. Patients typically experience immediate improvement in vital signs at the completion of the procedure. This procedure also eliminates the need for a second procedure that is required to remove the thrombolytic catheters after the thrombolysis period is completed.
