About this file
This document is Amendment 0001 to a federal solicitation for Fire Extinguisher Annual Inspection Services issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office (NCO) 15 in Leavenworth, Kansas. The solicitation number is 36C25526Q0157, with an effective date of January 21, 2026. The amendment provides answers to four questions submitted by offerors regarding scope clarification and technical specifications. The quote submission deadline remains unchanged at January 23, 2026 by 11:00 AM CST, and the point of contact is Lisa A. Buchanan (lisa.buchanan1@va.gov), who is also the contracting officer.
The government's responses address key bidding concerns: unscheduled maintenance examples include replacing torn or missing inspection tags and recharging used extinguishers, with any other unscheduled maintenance to be discussed and priced via contract modification; contractors should provide per-test pricing for six-year and hydrostatic tests, with quantities to be finalized post-inspection and adjusted via modification; specific technical details are provided for a Pyrochem PCL-300 fire suppression hood system at the Hope Recovery Center location (515 North Jefferson Boulevard, St. Louis, Missouri 63103), which requires inspection of a three-gallon wall-mounted tank and replacement of two 360-degree fusible links every six months; and semi-annual hood inspections are due in January and June each year with a 30-day tolerance per NFPA standards, with the government acknowledging a potential delay for the current year. The services cover St. Louis VAMC and CBOC locations as detailed in the Performance Work Statement.
