Response: No, use epoxy no-hub cast iron pipe and fittings.

Response: All hangers need to be replaced and are assumed to have lead paint on them. All of the original pipe hangers from the 1950 were painted orange with lead-based paint.

7. There is work going on right now on the elevator, what is the possibility that they could hold off on completing their elevator project at least long enough for us to get all of our materials, pipe and fittings we are going to need down in the workspace below 1st floor?

Response: The work on the elevator project cannot be delayed. After the contract is award you can coordinate with the other contractor but this will not be at the direction of the VA.

Response: The existing steel ring and lid need to be replaced. There is no need to modify the existing elevation of the lid.

that there is the possibility of encountering lead joints or ACM.

Response: The pipe hangers are coated in lead paint and need to be removed and properly disposed of.
