CONTINUATION PAGE

1. While the RFP summary states that the current system is “analogue” (sic. Analog), is the requested quote for the same type of system (analog) or possible upgrade to a High definition/HD – digital type system?

The Medical Center’s MATV System is an old system, including the cabling backbone. All TV’s are fed with older Coaxial Cables. The current system comes in to our Boiler Plant as digital signal and goes to a Digital to Analog converter. There is a plan to upgrade or MATV infrastructure in the future, but right now, we want to have a working system with no disruption of service. If needed, there are areas of the building, that are close to the converter where a satellite dish can be installed.

1. If you want HD, do you have an inventory list of current makes and TV model numbers to ensure they are compatible with a QAM TV distribution system?

We are not looking to get HD until our infrastructure has been upgraded.

1. Another section states: “The Provider shall be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of all the Service Provider’s equipment and wiring up; to and including the VA owned digital to analogue converter located at Building 4. The converter is located at the south end of Building 2 at the Mezzanine level.” - Need to know what this digital to analog convertor is being utilized for (in house channels) or other content?

The VA owned converter, is on the Mezzanine in Building 4. The Building 2 comment was an error. This converter is only to change the incoming digital service to analog, it is not for any in-house channels. If the new cable service requires any new equipment to convert to analog, then the contractor will provide, install and maintain it.

1. In another paragraph, it speaks to the following separate building (Fisher House) that will need service: “The Fisher House has an empty, underground PVC conduit that originates from a utility room inside the Fisher House and ends at the property line, close to the utility pole. The Service Provider will need to bring a new cable, from the utility pole and terminate it inside the utility room of the Fisher House.” :

3. Does the Fisher House currently have a coax cable distribution installed at the new facility (with outlets)?

Yes,, the 17 TV’s have all been wired (Coaxial) and routed to one utility closet inside the Fisher House.

3. Are all cables run to a common area for connection to a service provider?

Yes. A conduit has been installed from the room and it runs to the property line, near the utility pole.

3. We assume that this facility is NOT connected to the main hospital, therefore can we utilize a separate satellite dish system utilizing 17 Individual tv/room receivers at the Fisher House. Is it correct?

Yes

1. Who is the current TV service provider (cable TV service or satellite service)?

Time Warner/Spectrum

1. Is there a central MDF with a coaxial cable infrastructure that connects to various floor IDF’s?

We are wanting to have the cable service brought in at the same location as the existing service. We are not wanting to alter the current cabling at this point, so the new system must be able to function on our existing cabling structure.

A site visit can be arranged.

1. What TV programming channel content do you prefer besides “basic cable service”? i.e. ESPN, major news networks, local KC stations, ETC ?

Local channels, network news at a minimum. No PPV, HBO, Netflix and other premium pay channel. Your quote needs to have a breakout of the different channel packages available.

1. Do the VMC hospital rooms have bed side remotes?

The patient TV’s have the TV control in the pillow speakers for Nurse Call system.

1. Do the VMC hospital rooms have individual TV remotes?

All TV’s have remote control capabilities, but some rooms only use the pillow speakers.
