STATEMENT OF WORK

The Kanas City VAMC is requesting to lease a mobile CT scanner unit to be placed on the ground of the campus for a duration of no less than 6 months. The facility is preparing to replace an existing CT scanner due to end of life cycle. Construction and replacement of equipment is planned to be underway by end of FY20. GE or Canon (Toshiba) brand preferred since the staff are already trained and familiar with both equipment brands. Additionally, exam protocols can be transferred quickly and decrease time needed for preparation of use.

Requirements:

· Minimum 64 slice CT scanner in a mobile trailer; including delivery to VA facility, set up to operational level, and removal at end of lease

· Large bore gantry (72 cm preferred)

· Dose reduction software

· .05 mm thin-slice imaging

· 3 days of applications training to technical staff

· Preventive maintenance and repairs completed by vendor

· Ability to connect to VA network so images can be sent to VISTA/CPRS/Intellispace (PACS system)

· Patient changing room

· HVAC and humidity control system

· 480V generator

· Emergency lighting

· Must have signed national MOU/ISA meeting Federal and VA requirements for external connections.

· Ability to accept 200-amp panel with ship-to-shore plug

· Data and phone ready

· Patient bed lift

· Staircase entrance to work room

· Includes specifications:

Minimum gantry aperture [cm]
70 cm
Minimum detector width [mm]
.05 cm
Minimum detector field of view [cm]
50 cm
Table height range from floor [cm]
43-99 cm
Maximum patient weight supported [kg]
314 kg
Minimum 360° rotation time [s] – Vendors are encouraged to propose the fastest 360° rotation available.
.35 sec
☒
The CT scanner shall provide the ability for the user to independently operate the table and gantry from the control room.
☒
Ability to display CTDlvol (dose) before scan
☒
Ability to display DLP (dose) after exposure
☒
Modeled iterative reconstruction/Noise reduction. Vendors are encouraged to propose the greatest available noise reduction.
☒
Longest z-axis acquisition per rotation and, while achieving that – maximum temporal resolution, maximum spatial resolution in mm and in line pair equivalents, maximum construction rate (frames/sec) with maximum available noise reduction applied, and smallest focal spot size for largest z-axis coverage
☒
Triggered studies using an ROI gate place in the appropriate vessel for CTA and CCTA
☒
Gantry- or ceiling-mounted contrast injector with proven reliable synchronicity.
☒
Full UPS
☒
Primary operating/scanning workstation with a UPS

Questions and Answers:

What is the facility currently running in-house that is being upgraded or replaced?

Scanner being replaced is a GE VCT 64

Can you provide a software version on the current system?

GE thinks the software running is VCT 16HW36.4SP3.1

Is there a preference between Toshiba and GE?

Facility has both GE and Toshiba scanners currently, so either is acceptable

Is the connectivity to VA network (VISTA/CPRS/Intellispace (PACS system)) via DICOM format?

Any computers/workstations using Windows operating system must be version 10.

Any wireless devices must be FIPS-120 compliant.

Do they plan on scanning from the generator or using shore power?

Plan is for shore power/normal facility fed power

Is there a specific configuration for the Stairway required?

No specific configuration at this time, will be an on-site condition to address once vendor selected and footprint confirmed.

When referring to the “Patient bed lift” are, they referring to a Hoyer lift or the CT table assembly?

From what info we have here, I would say CT table assembly

When referring to the minimum detector FOV, please clarify that the detector coverage needs to be 50cm per rotation or are they referring to scanning FOV minimums of 50cm?

Scan FOV

Are you able to provide a better time for delivery?

Equipment availability is all based around these dates. We would not be able to hold a system for the next 5 months.
