About this file
This is a Special Notice for a sole source procurement of maintenance and emergency services for Canon medical imaging equipment and software. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate exclusively with Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. to provide full-service maintenance and emergency contract coverage for a Canon Aquilion One Prism CT scanner and Vitrea software at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. The procurement is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures (41 U.S.C. 1901) with a justification for exception to fair opportunity (JEFO) that limits service agreements for previously acquired Canon Radiology and Imaging Systems to the original equipment manufacturer only. All orders will be issued as sole source under IDIQ contract SPE2D1-17-D-0022.
Interested vendors must submit capability statements demonstrating their ability to meet requirements, including product and service information and customer references, by 10:00 a.m. Central Daylight Time on March 31, 2026. Submissions must be sent via email in Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF format to Eileen Meyer, the contracting officer, at eileen.meyer@va.gov. No solicitation documents are available, and telephone inquiries will not be accepted. The government will evaluate all responses received; however, the determination to proceed with sole source negotiation with Canon rather than compete the procurement remains solely within the government's discretion. The contracting office is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (ZIP 53214-1476), and the product service code is J065 with NAICS code 811210.
