FINAL STATEMENT OF WORK
FACSARIA PREVENTATIVE SERVICE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR SERVICE CONTRACT
1. Description of Services The Contractor shall provide all material, supplies, equipment, and qualified personnel to provide preventative maintenance and repair services on the FACSAria flow cytometer and cell sorter and software system located in the Research Department of Building 70, Room Number 70-C-137 at the Clement J Zablocki VA Medical Center (Milwaukee VAMC), located at 5000 W National Ave, Milwaukee, WI.
2. Objective The Milwaukee VA Medical Center is requesting to establish a preventative service maintenance and repair services contract for the FACSAria flow cytometer and cell sorter and software system preventative service maintenance & repair service contract. The service maintenance & repair contract agreement shall be for one (1) base year with four (4) renewal option years (four (4) additional years).
3. Background The FACSAria flow cytometer and cell sorter system is used to analyze cell suspensions from blood or different tissues, which can be labeled with specific markers and analyzed using the flow cytometer. This device also functions as a cell sorter, which can sort cells based on their properties. Importantly, this flow cytometer can detect up to 17 different markers (on cell surface and inside the cell) at the same time, in the same cell population. Additionally, the FACSAria is highly depended upon by researchers at the Milwaukee VAMC, as it has dramatically increased productivity by decreasing the time and effort currently lost to transporting samples to/from an academic partnering institution with limited system access. This equipment has also further improved experimental reliability, and enabled research studies involving time critical experiments by removing procedural and administrative barriers.
