Question: The reference spec section requires a CQC Manager to be a graduate engineer, or a graduate of construction management, with a minimum of 3 years construction experience on construction similar to the scope of this contract. Please confirm the education requirements for the CQC Manager for this contract. Or would a CQC Manager with only sufficient construction experience be acceptable for the project?

Response: Required a fulltime Superintendent Who can fulfill contractor site safety and health officer (SSHO) requirements and will need to have the OSHA 30-hour training. Yes, CQC Manager with only sufficient construction experience be acceptable for the project.

Question: In the plans on page CS502 it shows us removing approximately 3.5 – 6.5 feet of material to place up to 5.5’ of structural fill which I assume is clay. Just wanted to make sure that is what is wanted because that is a lot of clay we would need to bring in for the project.

Response: Yes, based on drawing and page CS502 under Asphalt Pavement Section, it does require approximately 3.5 – 6.5 feet of material to place up to 5.5’ of structural fill. Follow drawing and specification for detail clarification.

Question: Regarding the removal and resetting of 3 small trees on site. Because of the size of these trees, I would recommend removal and putting in 3 new trees because there is no way we would guarantee survival of these trees after they have been moved.

Response: This are only 2-3 years old trees. Use tree spades or work with tree companies to re-use the same trees.

Question: If we did provide 3 new trees, what trees would be wanted for replacement?

Response: In worst case scenario if the existing tree dies than the new replacement tree should white oak trees.
