About this file
This document is a Project Scope section describing a security system upgrade for a VA Medical Center. The project involves replacing an existing Saflok lodging electronic lock system by expanding the RS2 Technologies Access Control System (ACS), which includes installing 28 new proximity card readers and electric strikes on bedroom doors, replacing two existing proximity readers with HID Signo readers, and providing 200 HID Prox II proximity badges.
The document specifies that the VA Medical Center will provide supporting infrastructure like power requirements, network connectivity, servers, workstations, and wall space. The vendor will be responsible for system installation, programming, configuration, and testing. There is a preference for vendors within a 250-mile radius of Indianapolis, IN. For two specific doors (100 and 112), if a new cable cannot be installed, the existing cable will be reused with Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) configuration instead of the Wiegand readers used for other doors.
