About this file
This document contains responses to requests for information regarding Solicitation Number 36C25024B0003 from the Department of Veterans Affairs for upgrade signage and wayfinding services. The solicitation seeks to replace all exterior post-mounted parking and campus signs, panel signs, informational signs, and building-mounted signs. It will also involve repairing landscaping as needed and installing banners on light poles. One question clarifies which foundation detail from the plans applies to each traffic sign type. Another question confirms that the site safety health officer and superintendent/quality control manager roles can be fulfilled by the same individual if qualified. A third question indicates that all old concrete should be removed before installing new signage.

Requests for Information (RFIs) For Upgrade Signage and Wayfinding 610A4-22-208
1. Detail 12 on sheet CS503 indicates the traffic regulatory signs with foundation details shown on Details 21 & 22 - sheet CS505 but it is unclear which foundation applies to each traffic sign type. Please indicate which foundation applies for each traffic sign. Details 21 & 22 should apply to every post sign unless the sign is on a 2’x2’x2’ movable concrete block
1. Does the Site Safety Health Officer need to be a separate individual from the prime contractor’s Superintendent/CQC Manager? Or can the Superintendent/CQC Manager fulfill the SSHO duties for this contract if qualified? These duties may be performed by the same individual. All current site superintendents are performing these duties as well.
1. Are the existing concrete spoils from sign demolition able to remain in the ground, or will they need to be removed before the installation of the new signage? All old concrete should be removed.
