Bid Open ing Date, Time remains March 9, at 10:00AM (ET).

Bid Opening Location remains unchanged.

Requests for Information (RFIs)

1. Question: Do you have drawings available for this project? We were told at the site visit today that there was additional documentation (drawings and specs) available.

VA Response: Please see attached PDF documents for Priority 5.1 (Massachusetts v2) and Priority 5.2 (330 Dock v2).

2. Question: Can the site visit sign-in sheet be shared?

VA Response: Please see attached - 552-22-203 Site-Visit Sign-In Roster

3. Question: At the site visit it was stated that a waterline underneath the stairs at building 127 (?) is being threaded/capped and backfilled with gravel. I did not see this in the scope of work. Can you provide clarity on this?

VA Response: Please see Priority 5.8 in the original scope or work.

4. Question: Do you (or someone you know) have a list of service-disabled, veteran owned small businesses that might be bidding this that you could share?

VA Response: Please see attached - 552-22-203 Site-Visit Sign-In Roster

NEW RFIs and Responses as of 03/02/2023

5. Question: For priority 5.2:

· Do you want the entire loading dock to be demolished and replaced with new concrete or just specific areas within the loading dock.

VA Response: concrete to be demolished and replaced at specific areas according to the PDF document Priority 5.2 (330 Dock v2). Which was posted with Amendment #1.

· What is the thickness of the existing concrete/what is the reinforcing?

VA Response:

· See Attached: Priority 5.2 Cut Sheet

6. Question: It appears we do not have the dimensions/area for the concrete sidewalks for Priorities 5.3, 5.4, & 5.5. Can this be provided on a drawing?

VA Response:

Priority 5.3 408’ x 5’ x 4” with 6” x 6” welded wire fabric (WWF).

New sidewalk is to be at same grade as existing curb height.

· See Attached: Priority 5.3 Maine

Priority 5.4 31’ x 4’ x 4” with 6” x 6” (WWF).

Slope of sidewalk is to meet existing road height, rounded off existing curb, with ADA tactile mat.

· See Attached: Priority 5.4 CLC

Priority 5.5 B302 centerline is 104’ at 4’ wide at 4” with 6” x 6” (WWF).

Corner will have a 4’ radius at the turn, connecting both existing sidewalks.

· See Attached: Priority 5.5 B302

7. Question: For priority 5.6, please provide details on the curb to be replaced. It says to match existing, however without a drawing or detail we have no way of knowing this until the curb is demolished.

VA Response:

· See Attached: Priority 5.6 Curb & Gutter

8. Question: For priority 5.8 –

· We do not have any dimensions on the steps and deck that are being replaced. Can this information be provided on a drawing?

VA Response: Deck is 7’11” x 9’1 ½” at 4” thick steps are 7 ¼” rise with 11” tread with minimum 4” depth (See handrail at 5.9)

· See Attached: Priority 5.8 Deck

· See Attached: Priority 5.8 Step

· Need to know existing dimensions of steps including thickness of concrete and material composition/thickness beneath concrete.

VA Response: The area is to be backfilled with gravel and dead water drain capped.

· Need to know how thick you want new steps / what type of reinforcing for steps.

VA Response: The Deck is to be reinforced with 6” x 6” (WWF) minimum #3 bar reinforcement in steps. (See response to Question 8 above).

· What type of handrail is desired? Material type? Finish? Installation method (cast in place or surface mount)? You say to match B320 – please provide this information so we are able to match it.

VA Response: Handrail is to be ADA compliant, aluminum continuous handrail, surface mount, black in color

· See Attached: Priority 5.8 and 5.9 CHR 1

· See Attached: Priority 5.8 and 5.9 CHR 2

· See Attached: Priority 5.8 and 5.9 CHR 3

9. Question: For priority 5.9 – VA Response: Match Priority 5.8 (see response to Question 8 above).

· Please provide dimensions of ramp to be removed. Please provide a drawing showing this.

VA Response:

Centerline measures 45’ x 6’ wide at 4”. Reinforce with 6” x 6” (WWF)

· See Attached: Priority 5.9 B127 Ramp

· Need to know how thick you want ramp / what type of reinforcing.

VA Response: See above.

· What type of handrail is desired? Material type? Finish? Installation method (cast in place or surface mount)? You say to match B320 – please provide this information so we are able to match it.

VA Response See response to Question 8 above.

10. Question: The Scope calls out to grade adjacent area with topsoil and hydro-seed, and to water until 3” high with no bare spots. Are you saying you want us to figure on sending someone and watering all areas of seeded areas every day until grass is 3” high? If so – we can include this – but need to know is there water readily available at all locations where grass will be planted, or do we need to figure on bringing in a water truck? This seems like something that may be better handled by the VA maintenance/grounds crew, but we can include this if you are confirming it DOES need to be included.

VA Response: Yes, the contractor is responsible for leaving the grass areas in the same condition as when the project starts. Water may be available at some locations.

*All dimensions are approximate and must be field verified by the contractor.
