SOLICITATION 36C25020Q1052
HCHV SERVICES – SOCIAL WORK
For the Northern Indiana Health Care Systems (NIHCS) Amendment 1 - Questions and Answers (Q & A)
Answers will be in RED
Q1. Could you please tell me if the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation posted as solicitation number 36C25020Q1052 will be a follow-on requirement to any work performed currently or in the past, or will this be a new requirement? If possible, can you please provide the most recent contract or task order number?
A1. This requirement is a follow-on to an existing contract. The incumbent is Life Treatment Centers, Inc, 1402 S. Michigan St, South Bend, IN 46613. The contract VA251-15-D-0212 was awarded in the amount of $3,012,900.00.
Q2. I am hoping to find out if the subject effort is a new requirement or a follow-on to an existing contract? If the latter, can I please find out the incumbent contractor's name and contract number?
A2. See answer for A1.
Q3. I'm reviewing the fine print of the contract, and came across a reg that I wanted clarification on:
c. The facility shall maintain one functional lavatory (bathing and/or shower facility) for every six people living in the facility.
Is there any flexibility with this reg? For our veterans programs, we utilize a 25-bed facility with a resident lavatory that has 3 each sinks, urinals, toilet stalls, and showers. This facility has been operational as a GPD site since 2012 (originally for all 25 beds; currently they are funding 15), and the lavatory count has always been deemed appropriate. There is a staff bathroom complete with shower as well as additional restrooms at adjacent buildings on our campus (where dining and classrooms are located) that veterans are able to access should the need arise, but in nearly 9 years of operation, I have never received a complaint from a veteran about insufficient lavatory space.
A3. As long as accommodations can be made to ensure the facility has a designated bathroom for every six (6) veterans.
