CONTINUATION PAGE
Q1: Would the VA look to utilize the current equipment to the extent possible? This question is asked because of technology comes under sunset criteria after a defined period of time. Timitron would request that the end user provide the device inventory (with model and serial number) such that we can determine what is in the realm of possibility for utilizing the current infrastructure.
A1. We will be using the equipment currently in place.
Q2: Does VA have a requirement to ensure that the frequencies from the access points do not interfere with the operational wireless solution? This question is asked because no reference was made of information provided from to the VA Wireless Infrastructure Team that manages all VA hospitals operational wireless frequencies.
A2. Yes, all patient Wi-Fi is running on 5Ghz
Q3: Would the VA consider adding language such that any vendor must certify cabling infrastructure for up to 10+ years?
A3. No
Q4: Would the VA consider adding language that that any vendor must provide the not only the as-builds but the drawings and solutions locations in autocad, pfd, and MILAR formats?
A4. No
Q5: Would the VA allow the vendor to renegotiate the data services to be in line with VA requirements for Guest Wireless? This means that AT&T would have to provide a new circuit or transition to current to the vendor awarded the contract. This is required in order to transition and restore services within defined regulations.
A5. Yes. The vendor will be responsible for coordination with AT&T. This line is separate from the incoming service to the VA Network.
Q6: Will VA provide the hospital diagrams in pdf such that we may have a representation of the scope and areas? We would like to determine in relation to the device inventory requested if the hospital has the adequate number of Access Points and if they are distributed within optimal range and patient/guest locations.
A6. No. This is to provide the internet service to the system already in place.
Q7: Will VA include a requirement for vendors to be VA T1 or above badged? This asked because of access and work to be performed within the telecom rooms or closets is usually the central point of failure. Without proper escorts maintained during business hours it will delay the 90-day window proposed. Our firm has T1 badged by the VA SIC in Arkansas.
A7. No. Contractor personnel will be escorted when needed.
Q8: Would the VA entertain a BPA or direct award?
A8. No.

Q12. We currently are Bidding 2 locations that we are providing new equipment and install. Would like to do the same here if we can.

A15. They are already in place.
Q16. If the VA has the access points and switches can you please provide the number of each in the current network as well as the model numbers for licensing purposes?
If the contractor is to provide the equipment can the VA provide floor plans with desired coverage areas fully defined?
A.16 See bottom of page
Q17. Is content filtering currently being provided or required?
A17. Yes
Q18. Is AT&T a required vendor for the internet service? Is the 150 Mbps required to be symmetrical or is an asymmetrical solution acceptable?
A18. AT&T is not required; however, it is already in place.

Is this latter date correct? Given the relatively short time from the final date questions are due, and the submission date (8/15), would the Government please consider an extension, letting Offerors know as soon as possible, perhaps in advance of responses to technical questions?
A35. New due date is Monday, August 20th, 2018 at 1600 hours.
Q36. Please confirm that the proposal time due is EDT.
A36. It is Daylight Savings Time (DST), 1600 hours.
Q37. The Announcement also requests that the Cost Proposal include--at a minimum--option years separately priced, supplies and equipment separately priced, Wage Categories, and the following: Cost Proposal multipliers format. Please clarify "option years separately priced," since there is a Cost Proposal multipliers format AND "supplies and equipment separately priced." In addition, is the Government requesting "Davis Bacon" "wage categories" for non-supervisory/management personnel, or all wage categories?
