System Administration High Performance Computing support NeRVe Systems 15212 36C24E20Q0208 N 541519 US Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Regional Procurement Office (RPO) East 323 North Shore Drive, Suite 500 Pittsburgh PA 15212-5319 Contract Specialist Ms. Millicent Covert millicent.covert@va.gov Regional Procurement Office (RPO) - East intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with ThunderCat Technology, LLC, 1925 Isaac Newton Square, Ste 180, Reston, VA, 20190-5030, to purchase Systems Administration/High Performance Computing support for the NeRVe Systems at the Boston VAMC – Jamaica Plain Division through remote, on call, and on-site services for a three-year period (Base Year + 2 Option Years).
Support Services will consist of the following:
· Advanced HPC will provide technical support and onsite technical training to facilitate the needs of the Department of Veterans affairs.
· Advanced HPC support engineers will provide support for the existing system (i.e., Production, Cluster, Backup and extensive networked computers for the VLAN, VA Imaging.
· Advanced HPC will provide the following systems administrative capabilities: Patching, User and Group Maintenance, Security Sweeps, Disk Usage Scans, Performance Monitoring, File Transfers, Code Promotion, High-Level Administration, Reboots, and Malware Scans
· Remote technical support up to 20 hours per week On-Site/Training: 4 x training sessions, 4 hours per session
This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) (only one responsible source) because the Government believes that ThunderCat Technology, due to their extensive knowledge of their systems, in combination with their previous installation and maintenance of several key NeRVe Systems, makes them uniquely qualified as the only contractor capable of providing this support.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Any responsible sources who wish to identify their interest and capability to provide these services must notify this Contracting Specialist at millicent.covert@va.gov, NLT 11:59 AM EST, Wednesday, July 29, 2020. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Upon receipt of the interested parties' notification, the Contract Specialist will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations.
