March 2010 Intent to sole source Peripheral quantitative computed tomography (pQCT) system 15212-5319 36C24E19Q0110 N 334516 US Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Regional Procurement Office (RPO) East 323 North Shore Drive, Suite 500 Pittsburgh PA 15212-5319 lynn.portman@va.gov The Department of Veterans Affairs, Bronx VA Health Care System, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, with Stim Designs for the pQCT XCT 3000 Computer Tomography System. The XCT 3000 is the only available pQCT on the market that offers a sliding gantry that can obtain soft tissue, volumetric bone mineral density, and bone geometry parameters at regions along the lower limb as well as regions above and below the knee joint and to ensure continuity of findings in ongoing pharmacological and rehabilitation clinical investigations.

This is a notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Wednesday, July 24th, 12:00, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Lynn Portman at lynn.portman@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
