SOURCES SOUGHT -

The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources who can meet the salient characteristics below and their size classification (large business, small business, 8(a), SDVOSB, etc.), relative to NAICS code 334516. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions.

The VA Cooperative Studies Program Clinical Research Pharmacy Coordinating Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico requires a portable, rotary bench-top tablet press to perform pharmaceutical manufacturing pilot batches prior to full-scale production runs. This piece of equipment compresses powders into tablets as part of the pharmaceutical manufacturing process.

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:

A. Portable (include cart)

(1) Max dimensions 30-inch Wide x 30-inch Deep with max height of 72-inches (includes cart)
(2) Electrical: 110VAC-120VAC or 208VAC - 220VAC

B. Rotary tablet press (8 Stations)

C. “D”-tooling compatible

D. 60,000 tablets/hr

E. Stainless steel to meet 21 CFR Part 211 Good Manufacturing Requirements

F. Touch Screen operated

G. Tablet press instrumentation package including computer to capture data and analyze compression results

H. On-Site Installation and Training

I. Qualifications to include Installation Qualification (IQ), Operation Qualification (OQ), and Software Validation

J. Cart must be stainless steel to meet 21 CFR Part 211 Good Manufacturing Requirements

K. OPTIONS

1) Pre-compression Transducer

2) Take-Off Transducer

3) Additional 8.5mm Fill Cam (and)

4) Additional 12mm Fill Cam

This notice is not a request for competitive proposals, however; any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than July 9th, 2018 at 4 PM, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Lynn Portman at lynn.portman@va.gov and must include company name, address, point of contact, business size, SDVOSB/VOSB status, and capability information. No telephone responses will be accepted. This notice is to assist the Government in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued, all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement.
