This also includes inserts used to treat patients with diabetes that lack protective sensation.

Level IIIHeel Protection devicesA heel protector is a medical device usually constructed of foam, air-cushioning, gel, or fiber-filling, and is designed to offload pressure from the heel of a non-ambulatory individual to help prevent decubitus ulcers on the boney heel area of the foot. It helps to elevate and cushion the heel while restricting pressure.

They may also be used to allow for safe surface transfer by avoiding injuries that are due to force or friction.

Level II Residual Limb Protectors/Supports A dressing placed on the residual limb to prevent contractures, help manage edema, protect the surgical site, and assist with the healing process.
