SPS Water Treatment at Louisville
Question: Are starc panels acceptable in the SPS Decon room if all seems and top/bot are taped and sealed?
Answer: Yes
Question: There was a discussion at the site visit of what to do with the air during construction in the SPS Decon room. It was discussed to have an air scrubber in the room without discharge
(i.e no negative air pressure) or to exhaust the scrubbed air into the corridor to create the negative air pressure in the room during construction. Please advise on the acceptable option.
Answer: Create negative air in work space, exhaust into corridor.
Question: It was said at the site visit that all power in the SPS rooms on the first floor does not require new power. The only new power to be provided is for the equipment in the basement mechanical room. Please confirm.
Answer: The new evoqua water treatment system insall is in SB4. Power comes from SE
Panel in SB4.
Question: Some of the existing walls in the SPS Decon room has tile which appears to be painted with epoxy paint. Is it acceptable to match the general look of the existing tile and repaint the wall at any locations requiring demo for new plumbing?
Answer: Replace tile and paint with epoxy paint to match existing.
Question: It was said at the site visit that a water monitoring station is needed in the SPS Decon room. There were two wall locations discussed for mounting. Please provide this station graphically on the plans so we know where it is to be located. The water monitoring station will require an existing power outlet near the mounting location.
Answer: See Drawing SPSH201 R3
Question: The monitoring station will require a data cable and conduit from the equipment in the basement to the panel. Is it acceptable to penetrate the floor in front of the existing tile wall base and surface mount the conduit to the wall?
Answer: See Drawing SPSH201R3. Surface mount data cable conduit. Install against ceiling, from floor penetration to Remote Monitoring Panel (RMP).
Question: It was said at the site visit that the existing concrete pad in the basement for the new water tank is to be reused without extending the concrete pad. Please confirm.
Answer: Reuse existing concrete pad without modification.

Question: The Evoqua equipment drawings titled Process and Instrumentation Diagram
Dimensions Layout 1 of 1 shows the distribution pump with a 460v/5a electrical requirements.
However, the SOW note #4 calls out the pump VFD to have a 208v/3PH electrical requirements.
Please clarify which is needed.
Answer: 208V/3PH
Question: If the 460v/5a is needed, which panel will provide the 460v service.
Answer: N/A
Question: At the site visit it was said that the electrical scope of work should include 2 VFD’s to be furnished and installed by the Contractor. After reviewing the equipment drawings and SOW we cannot find any reference to these VFD’s. In fact, the page 9 of 12 of the Evoqua drawings shows the distribution loop pump coming with a VFD from Evoqua. Please clarify the following regarding the two VFD’s referenced at the site visit:
a. Should the GC include furnish and install of two VFD’s?
b. If so, what are the specs for the VFD’s, this will greatly affect the cost of the components.
c. If so, what systems are each of the two VFD’s intended, what is the enclosure rating, is there anything within the enclosure, and what is the control voltage?
Answer: From the Statement of Work, "ATTACHMENT 2, Distribution Pump, 208v 3ph, 5.3 amps", "DIVISION 26: ELECTRICAL, 4) The pump VFD shall have a 208VAC 3PH 60Hz circuit with separate disconnect." (Try using built in word search to find key words like
"VFD".)
