2ND RFI Answer to RFQ 36C24921Q0003
1. The 3 postfilters in the white housings are referred to as ultrafilters in Questions 2 and 14 responses. R2 states 5-micron rating, R14 states 0.5-micron rating. Ultrafilters would typically be < 0.1-micron rating and a common filter used for this application is 0.05 microns. There is significant price impact between 5 micron and 0.05 micron rated filters. What would the VA like proposed ? Clarification to previous answers for question 2 and 14. According to TIR 34 for Water quality, the ultrafilter size needs to be 0.001-0.05. I believe we are good to stay with the 0.05 micron rated filters.
1. Question 12 refers to the new Franklin campus. It lists a number of instruments to be fed. The response directed us back to spec section 1.2 and asks the water vendor to assume the consumable items for this new system. Not sure how to estimate these unless they are excluded and just the system checks, and decontamination is proposed. Clarification to previous answers for question 12. The consumables will not be excluded, per Section 1.6 “Services Performed Under Maintenance Plan” outlines the consumables, quantities and periods for servicing/replacement. Please base your quotes on this utilizing the same consumables in place as the SPS system. Section 1.2 provides the items that are in the current design of that system for situational awareness just in comparison to the one in SPS that also outlines the equipment.
