(End of Clause) Justification for Single Source Awards IAW FAR 13.106-1 For Over Micro-Purchase Threshold but Not Exceeding the SAT ($150K)

Acquisition Plan Action ID: 36C249-19-AP-1399, Transaction No. 603-19-2-3984-0035

1. Contracting Activity: Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN09, Robley Rex Louisville VA Medical Center (603), 603-19-2-3984-0035.

2. Brief Description of Supplies/ Services required and the intended use/Estimated Amount:

This requirement is for brand-name only fix storage racks. The upright racks are being procured to match existing brand name specific equipment. The existing Uprights Model IU314B192 will be used in the VA Mellwood Avenue warehouse and will coordinate with the matching existing sets. This procurement is for the VA Robley Rex Medical Center Mellwood Avenue warehouse station 603, Louisville, Kentucky 40206.

3. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: The requested product is intended to work seamlessly with products already purchased and in use at the Louisville VA Mellwood Avenue Warehouse. The pallets and uprights have already been purchased and installed and will match existing equipment in the warehouse. No other manufacturer can offer us the racks because this is a matching set from one manufacturer. Purchase of similar products from different manufacturers would potentially cause problems and/or void the warranty or serviceability of those items already in use. This creates an unnecessary cost prohibition to the Government; therefore, only Brand Name products will meet the government’s need for this requirement.

4. Description of market research conducted and results or statement why it was not conducted: Market Research was conducted and no other items were found to suffice the needs of the government.

5. Contracting Officer's Certification: Purchase is approved in accordance with FAR13.106-1(b)(1)(i). I certify that the foregoing justification is accurate and complete to the best of my knowledge and belief.

File details come from the government source that posted it.
