About this file

This is a Special Notice for a sole-source, firm fixed-price task order solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Network Contracting Office (NCO 8), on behalf of the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System, intends to award maintenance and service coverage for Canon Medical Systems equipment. The task order will be placed against the national high-technology medical equipment (HTME) contract SPE2D117D0022 and will include a base year plus four one-year option periods awarded to Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc., a Large Business and original equipment manufacturer (OEM). The requirement does not meet the Rule of Two under the Veterans First Contracting Program and is therefore being pursued through other-than-competitive procedures under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 4106(c) due to Canon's unique and highly specialized capability. The NAICS code is 811210 (Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) with a $22 million size standard, and the Product Service Code is J065 (Maintenance, Repair, and Rebuilding of Medical, Dental, and Veterinary Equipment and Supplies).

The contractor must provide full-service maintenance coverage for government-owned Canon equipment, including CT scanners, MRI systems, radiographic systems, nuclear medicine equipment, ultrasound systems, computed radiography, magnetoencephalography, PET/CT and PET/MR scanners, cyclotrons, angiography systems, cardiac catheterization equipment, and mammography systems. Core requirements include OEM authorization letters, preventive maintenance, required response times, on-site field support and repair services, parts and labor provision, software updates, glassware support, and uptime guarantees. Interested parties may submit responses by 4:30 p.m. ET on August 19, 2026, to demonstrate OEM authorization and capability, with clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government. The anticipated award date is on or after October 1, 2026. If no competing responses are received by the closing date, the sole-source award will be made to Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. without further notice.
