About this file

This is a Sources Sought Notice issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 8, for market research purposes regarding exterior glass panel replacement services at Lee County Veterans Healthcare Center in Cape Coral, Florida. The notice is not a formal solicitation but rather seeks information from qualified small businesses (SBs), Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSBs), and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) to determine the feasibility of setting aside the contract for socio-economic categories. The response deadline is May 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM Eastern Time, and interested parties should submit capability statements and supporting documentation via email to the Contracting Officer, Michael A. Shook, at michael.shook@va.gov.

The requirement involves procuring new hurricane-impact resistant glass panels, removing and disposing of 40 existing damaged glass panels, and installing new units throughout the facility's curtain wall system. The glass panels must meet specific technical specifications including 5/16" blue-green fully tempered glass with VRE-59 #2 edge deletion, 7/16" argon-filled airspace with black silicone sightline, and 1/4" heat-strengthened clear glass. The contractor must provide all personnel, equipment, materials, insurance, and transportation; conduct measurements and surface preparation; furnish a 12"x12" sample for approval; arrange manufacturing; manage waste disposal; provide weekly and daily progress reports; maintain liability and workers' compensation insurance; and limit facility disruption.
