COMMENT(s)/QUESTION(s)
GOVERNMENT’S RESPONSE
General Question
We would like to know the GPM and the Size Water Line for the valves
Can provide further verification via pictures if needed. These specifications are from the original build.
2
General Question
Will the VA escort and provide access to prospective contractors to and from the mixing valve locations?
Yes, an escort will be provided.
3
General Question
Will the VA require the work to be done on weekends to minimize the impact on hospital functions?
Work would need to be performed during “off peak” hours (evenings and on weekends) to minimize the disturbance to the day-to-day operations. This would also need to be coordinated well in advance to allow for changes in any prior planned procedures.
4
General Question
Which company currently services the building automation systems (i.e., Siemens)?
Currently, our BAS is maintained and monitored by our inhouse team. We are running Metasys so the vast majority of the products used, and programing done is by JCI (Johnson Controls). This is done in close coordination with our HVAC/Controls Section.
5
General Question
Can you please provide the contact information for the company that manages the building automation system?
The Central Energy Plant monitors the BAS for alarms and abnormalities, we are notified as they occur. Additionally, We would be requesting “Basic User Access” for each of our Pipefitters. This way they would be able to make any needed adjustment or repairs as needed to the system.
6
General Question
What electrical power requirements are required for use with the building automation system?
24VDC. All wiring is required to be in conduit. (Automation, Controls, Power, etc.)
7
General Question
Can you please establish the servicing hours accepted so that we are all proposing the same shift rate?
Work would need to be performed during “off peak” hours (evenings and on weekends)
8
General Question
Can you please identify if water testing by third party is required upon opening the valves back up for access flow?
Water testing after the installation of the new mixing valve would not be required.
9
General Question
If water testing is required, please identify the current water testing authority / firm that is familiar with the site and procedures to efficiently turn the system back over.
Water testing is not required.
