DESCRIPTION
The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a sole source firm fixed-price requirement for sixty months to Veracyte Incorporated for Afirma Gene Expression Classifier Testing.
The government requires testing for thyroid biopsies and tissue to determine if a patient has cancer. The Afirma Genetic Classifier tests for variants and fusions tests 593 genes for malignancy. The tests evaluate mRNA gene expression and use proprietary algorithms to produce results. The genomic tests are developed and performed in CLIA certified laboratories through proprietary molecular diagnostic testing using Afirma, Percepta and Envisia.
The contract action is for services for which the government intends to solicit only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submittal proposal.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received with in the (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government.
A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotations/responses should be emailed to contract specialist at EarlCi.Johnson@va.gov by 12 p.m. EST on May 17, 2022.
