RFQ 36C24819Q0646
Questions and Answers from Site visit and survey on April 26, 2019
1. Would the contractor be required at any point to open ceiling tiles to evaluate plumbing?
Potentially. Buildings 100, 111, and 106 have interstitial spaces which allow easier access for utilities. Those interstitial spaces will have to be evaluated. Other buildings have just dropped ceilings and there is potential that systems will be evaluated of the ceiling in these buildings, but should be limited.
2. Will “As Built” drawing be available to Contractor to review if needed? The facility can provide original as-built drawings for most buildings, however we do not guarantee the accuracy of the drawings. Modifications may not have been captured on the drawings.
3. Is there any Safety or Security training that the contractor will need to attend? A PowerPoint presentation will be provided to the contractor for working in inpatient, locked Mental Health
Wards. No other training is necessary.
4. Hours of survey (days, nights, etc.)? Would this be during normal business hours? Could the contractor work weekends? The contractor could start as early as 7AM and go until 430PM, Monday through Friday for “typical” days. Weekend and night work will be supported as needed to access patient care areas that are inaccessible during the normal work day.
5. Will required pictures be of just testable assemblies & all recommendations or will they need to include “all devices” & “methods” as well? Testable assemblies and all recommendations
6. Please clarify Testing/Inspecting section on page 7. Does the SOW include testing of assemblies or just inspecting them to ensure they are Approved & Appropriate as well as installed properly?
Without knowing total number of assemblies to be tested it will be difficult to supply an accurate quote on testing… Recommend this be a follow-up RFP after CCC Survey is completed…We will remove testing from the scope and do a follow up contract after the survey.
7. Are there any confined spaces, either semi-confined or confined? No permit required confined spaces will need to be access. Some areas (i.e. basement of Building 1) are tight and should be access by at least a team of (2) people.
8. What is the timeframe after award for projected start? Within 30 days
9. How many inspectors can the contract have on site? We will guarantee to support one team of inspectors/surveyors. There may be times that more teams could be supported, but cannot be guaranteed. Contractor can have as many people as can reasonably be in one team (suggest 3-5 people).
