The chlorine generator shall be certified to the NSF-61 standard. The CL system shall use an electrolytic cell and a single precursor, sodium chlorite (certified to the NSF-60 standard), to generate a dilute solution of chlorine on-site. As part of the system, contractor shall provide a measuring and control system capable to measure CL for continuous monitoring of chlorine concentration in water and supply a technical grade, shall conform to NSF Standard 60 certification for use in drinking water in adherence to state code requirement.
Chlorine Generator The chlorine generator shall be (Qty.) 1 each NSF electrochemical generator with a capacity of up to 4 cassettes capable of producing up to 1.1 pounds of chlorine per day to be supplied to the LKNA main watering system. The generator will require a single precursor, sodium chlorite (NaClO2), and electrochemical cassettes, the generator shall use chlorine to inject into the water supply system. An external drum of chlorite solution will be metered into the generator feed water by a peristaltic metering pump that is internal to the generator cabinet. The generator shall have a built-in water softener which will be controlled by the system’s microprocessor and regenerate automatically. The system will have externally-mounted 10-micron carbon pre-filter assembly for feed water filtration.
The generator shall be supplied with 2 electrochemical cassettes for initial start-up. Cassettes shall provide approximately 2,000 operating hours or 6 months of service whichever comes first and have a shelf-life of up to twelve months. The Generator will require 115VAC/20A.
Monitoring and Control System The system shall be Qty. 1 each, 0.01 mg/L to 1.0 mg/L pre-assembled unit comprised of a sensor with flow cell, flow switch and a controller mounted on a ready to install panel. The sensor will consist of a reference electrode designed for the direct measurement of the chlorine in solution. Miscellaneous piping and fittings are also installed on the panel to ensure proper water flow through the flow cell and flow switch as well as providing a sample port for sensor calibration. An ultrasonic flow sensor assembly and controller shall be supplied to measure the flow of the water to be treated. The meter shall have an analog 4-20ma output signal that is scalable in proportion to the treated water flow rate. The signal will be used to control the chlorine dioxide metering pumps that are supplied with the chlorine dioxide dosing package. The system shall be capable of web-based data logging, monitoring, alarming, and 24/7 monitoring of system conditions by a manned team of analysts. The Contractor shall have the full responsibility of the Equipment Installation, Commissioning and Preventative Maintenance.
Preventative Maintenance:

All travel and living expenses shall be included in the cost of the complete monitoring system.
Equipment Installation:
Contractor shall be responsible for preparation, installation and commissioning one equipment is installed for the One-time service.
3. Continuous Water Hygiene Monitoring System in Buildings (Main Hospital, CEP Storage Tank, DOM, CLC, FH & LKBW DOM).
A. Description:
Contractor shall provide a continuous Monitoring System to continuously monitor the water quality of potable cold or hot water in all buildings listed. The equipment shall continuously measure water pressure, dissolved solids in the water by conductivity, temperature, and pH of the water. Oxidant residuals with respect to both free chlorine (F-Cl2) and total chlorine (T-Cl2) is measured continually using the EPA accepted DPD (N, N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine) colorimetric test method at an adjustable frequency of every 2-min to 10-min. The oxidant residual measurement complies with US EPA regulation 40 CFR140.74, Standard Method 4500-CLG, and US EPA Method 334.0 “Determination of Residual Chlorine in Drinking Water using an online Analyzer”. Water flow (on/off) through the System is also continuously monitored and by association shall detect no flow conditions in the water stream. The system shall accept a 4-20mA input from an external flow meter (continuous flow rate data is desired). The System continuously transfers measurement data to a web-based server via Mobile Link for real time monitoring of the system status, monitoring data, set points, and alarms. The measurement and historical data shall be easily accessible for trending and reporting 24/7 and 365 days a year via a web-based browser application.
B. Potable Cold-Water
The System shall be used to monitor the water quality of a potable cold-water stream (i.e. incoming water main, storage tank, riser or branch, or distal outlet). The System shall be tied into the water line in a side-stream manner using an appropriate backflow prevention device (or check valve).
C. Potable Hot-Water
The System shall be used to monitor the water quality of a potable hot water stream provided water temperature is below 110°F (i.e. hot water storage, supply, return, riser or branch, or distal outlet). If the hot water temperature exceeds 110°F. The Analyzer is tied into the hot water line in a side-stream manner using an appropriate backflow prevention device.
