If necessary, use a ground-penetrating radar (GPR) to locate non-visible utilities or buried and/or abandoned structures.

8.2. Site condition assessment to verify and identify how the site must be adapted to install the new canopy. Also verify the compliance with all the current codes (e.g. safety, accessibility, etc.) as well as the utilities (e.g. electrical, storm drainage, etc.) connection points. The intent is to provide recommendations to properly modify the site conditions and correct all existing deficiencies and non- compliance with codes. The MOT shall include diagrams showing traffic flow, locations of the safety devices, distances and description of all devices to be used (e.g. drums, chain-link fence barriers, concrete barriers, delineators, temporary markings, signs, etc.). The MOT shall also serve as a delimitation / segregation of the construction site to prevent outside people (e.g., patients, VA employees, visitors, etc.) from entering to it. Under no circumstance the DB-C can perform any work without it’s approved MOT.

9.3. The DBT shall design and provide a new canopy structure of approximately 600 square feet to connect the existing administration building canopy with the hospital main entrance. The new canopy must cover all the area between the existing canopy, administration building and main hospital entrance.
