Valet Parking Services Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center Charleston SC

Below are the list of submitted questions and answers:

· Is there a maximum value set for this contract? Unknown at this time

· How much time will be allocated from contract award to be fully operational for the successful bidder? 45 Days

· Is the valet parking area onsite or offsite? Offsite

· Will the VA provide the operator with storage area for operating supplies (Uniforms, Traffic cones, Go-Jacks, etc.? Yes

· Would the VA provide a location in a pre-approved area? No

· Would the VA provide this shed with electric power for lighting, radios, computer, heating, A/C, etc.? No

· If a shed is not provided or allowed, is there workspace that the site manager may have access to? No

· Will PPE (mask and gloves) be required for all contractors? All PPE deemed necessary will be provided by the contractor

· What is the last 12 months’ contractual price? Due to covid there has been no Valet for the last 12 months.

· May the operator number the valet parking spaces? No

· What are the current problems and issues with the valet parking? There is no current valet service.

· How long has the current operator been performing valet services at Charleston VAMC? There is no current valet service.

· From the current valet operator, what valet equipment/items will stay with the hospital and transfer to the new contract, i.e. booth, podium, key boxes, etc.? There is not a current valet contract or equipment.

· Is there any current or upcoming construction in any parking spaces? Unknown. Construction is handled through Engineering.

· How many keys are turned over at the end of the day to the VA police on average? Due to covid there has been no Valet for the last 12 months.

· How much notice will be provided prior to the contract start date? 45 Days

· What is the weekly/monthly count for vehicles serviced Charleston VAMC? Unknown due to lack of recent valet contract.

· How many parking spaces are provided to the operator for valet parking? Unknown – determined by space provided by contractor.

· Are these spaces separated from the spaces for self-parking? Unknown – determined by space provided by contractor.

· Are we required or expected to ask for the Patient Identification Card? No

· What is the policy when the valet lot is full? Adequate parking needs to be provided.

· Can you provide the vehicle counts for the valet for the last 12 months? Due to covid there has been no Valet for the last 12 months.

· Paragraph 23 infers that background checks are needed. When completing this section will you provide the following? See below

· What type of check – Criminal background check and 10 years drivers record.

· Who performs the check – Contractor – with proof provided to VA.

· What is the cost of the check - Unknown

· What is the overall timing to complete the check to know when the employee can start working, When clearance is provided.

· Who pays for the check? - Contractor

· Are there valet services currently at the facility? No – Suspended during Covid.

· Please provide the current staffing levels – N/A - No current service

· Please confirm services are performed Monday – Friday. Yes with the exception of Federal Holidays.

· Will there be a site visit? Yes

· Can you provide a map of property identifying the valet parking areas? Yes, see image below. This is the arial view of the area that is onsite. The additional parking off site valet parking would be provided by the contractor.

· Will the operator be providing all parking related equipment and necessary signage? The VA will provide the signage. All other equipment such as the key cabinet will be provided by the contractor.
