QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: Pest Control Services (36C24721Q0386)

1. Would the government please advise if both Bed Bug emergency call orders and non-Bed Bug emergency call orders are to be provided "at no additional cost to the government"? Yes. Bed Bugs and any other biting or stinging pests that pose harm to our Veterans. These items must be addressed within 4 hours of notification.

1. Would the government please advise if Termite and/or Wood Destroying Organisms (WDO) inspections and/or treatments are to be provided "at no additional cost to the government"? Separate contract is in place for termites.

1. Would the government please define "surrounding areas of facility" (see pg 8, 2nd paragraph)? We require various treatments to occur “as needed”, such as Snake Away Treatment and Ant Barrier Treatment. This will require treatment of the perimeter of each/all buildings or within close proximity of the building perimeter.

1. Would the government please advise if UV Fly lights are required, "at no additional cost to the government", throughout the facility as required by EMS chief or COR and pest contractor? UV fly lights are not required.

1. Would the government please advise if the previous contract award (VA247-15-C-0064) was extended or if a bridge contract was awarded? If a bridge contract was awarded, please advise both the date and total amount of award? No extension on VA247-15-C-0064. VA24720P0552 was awarded on 04/01/2020 in the amount of $91,649.40 for Base only.

1. Would the government please advise the total number of Bed Bug emergencies from March 4, 2020 thru March 4, 2021 regarding the Tuscaloosa VAMC (including resident facilities)? We’ve had 10 cases that required heat treatment and/or a general spray of insecticide (if no infestation was discovered).

1. Would the government please advise if the previous pest control contract included inspection and treatment for Bed Bugs "at no additional cost to the government"? Award ID VA24715P0091 for $26,660 was awarded for Bed Bugs treatment only in addition to routine pest control services (IGF PEST CONTROL SERVICES BED BUGS IN BUILDING 137 AT TVAMC). Please clarify. Yes, the contract included inspection and treatment for Bed Bugs (heat treatment and/or general spray of of area or room/s with insecticide (if no infestation was discovered).

1. Would the government please advise if Award ID 36C24720P0552 for $91,649.40 for 1 year of pest control services (04-01-2020 thru 03-31-2021) has the same or a similar Scope of Work as the current pest control solicitation? This award was for 1 year (base year only) with the same scope of work as the solicitation.
