About this file
This document is a combined synopsis and solicitation for annual preventative maintenance on ceiling-mounted patient lifts. The solicitation requests quotations for inspection, preventative maintenance, load testing, certification, and emergency repairs of 300 ceiling lifts at the Charlie Norwood Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia over a five year period from October 2020 to September 2025. The small business set-aside is for a service-disabled veteran-owned small business. Interested vendors must provide pricing for inspection and maintenance of the lifts from October 2020 to September 2021 with options to extend the contract for four additional one year periods. The closing date for submissions is August 21, 2020. Inspections and preventative maintenance must be completed by certified technicians within specified timeframes. The selected vendor will be responsible for providing original equipment manufacturer parts and repairs to correct any deficiencies found during inspections and for lifts that become nonfunctional.

The purpose of this amendment it to post the all timely questions and answers.
James E. Boles Contracting Officer
1. Is this solicitation for Inspections Only? If it is for Inspections and Service, will that include parts? This is for parts and service which includes yearly weight testing and certifications
1. Do you have a particular SDVOSB percentage for labor fulfillment for this request? If so, what is that percentage? The SDVOSB (Awardee/Prime) must complete 51% of the work to qualify for an SDVOSB set-aside and be in compliance with the limitations of subcontracting.
1. Other than batteries, GH2 parts are no longer available. For the GH2 units, how would you like to proceed if they are found to be in need of repair beyond the need for batteries? Parts are still available may be used but they are out there. If no parts are available, then we will have to find some other form of lifting devices
