DESCRIPTION
Purpose
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6 is seeking qualified contractors capable of installing a chilled-water bypass loop system serving the third-floor laboratory space. This Sources Sought notice is issued for market research and acquisition planning purposes only. It is not a solicitation, request for proposal, invitation for bid, or promise to award a contract.
The VA is seeking responses from qualified small and other-than-small businesses, including firms capable of performing the work.
Background
The Central VA Healthcare System is requesting a new chiller to be installed on the roof of the third-floor laboratory. However, a chilled-water bypass loop system was not installed as part of the original work. Because the system lacks the required bypass loop, the chiller shuts down after operating for a period of time or upon reaching a predetermined operating condition. These shutdowns result in inadequate cooling and elevated temperatures within the laboratory space.
The VA requires the installation of a bypass loop system and integration with the existing chiller, air-handling equipment, and Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI) building automation/control system.
