About this file
This document is a Request for Quote (RFQ) Amendment for laundry processing services issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office. The solicitation (36C24625Q0673) seeks a contractor to provide laundry processing services for a base period from 06-01-2025 to 05-31-2026, with four additional one-year option periods through 05-31-2030. The annual service volume is approximately 920,000 pounds of laundry, which includes diverse textile items such as tablecloths, employee uniforms, sheets, blankets, towels, privacy curtains, and specialized garments like arc flash protective clothing.
The amendment provides detailed responses to contractor questions, clarifying that the facility processes an average of 3,000 pounds of soiled linen daily, totaling 14,000-15,000 pounds weekly. The laundry service must comply with VHA Directive 1850.03 - Textile Care Management, ensuring infection prevention, control practices, and adherence to manufacturer laundering instructions. The NAICS code is 812320 (Drycleaning and Laundry Services), and the Product/Service Code is S209 (Housekeeping - Laundry/Drycleaning). The solicitation was issued by Harold McQuillia, Contracting Officer, with an amendment date of 05-02-2025 and a response deadline of 04-25-2025.

RFQ 36C24625Q0673 Contractor Questions and Government Answers
1. What are the item specification and quantity?
Our facility's textile inventory includes, but is not limited to, the following items:
· Tablecloths
· Employee uniforms, including arc flash protective garments (washed in accordance with manufacturer specifications to maintain safety standards)
· Shirt protectors
· Flat and fitted sheets
· Harm-reducing bedding
· Washcloths and towels
· Privacy curtains
· Thermal and bath blankets
· Quilts
· Pajama tops and bottoms
· Microfiber cloths and microfiber mops
· Loop mops
· Pillowcases
· Laundry bags
· Arc flash uniforms
· Each of these items are maintained and laundered according to standards outlined in VHA Directive 1850.03 – Textile Care Management, which requires compliance with infection prevention and control practices, as well as adherence to manufacturer laundering instructions, especially for specialty or protective garments such as arc flash uniforms. This ensures the integrity, cleanliness, and safety of all textiles used throughout the facility, in alignment with VA regulations and patient care standards.
2. What is the reason for dry cleaning as opposed to washing the items mentioned in the documents?
Dry cleaning is not mentioned in the PWS
3. Could you please provide me with estimated annual quantities?
Annual poundage is approximately 912,491
4. How many pounds will need to be serviced a month?
Monthly poundage is approximately 73,107
5. Can you give me the approximate daily weight for each of the items listed below that my laundry service will pick up from the VA?
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide the approximate daily weight for each individual item listed, as our facility does not track linen by item count. Our laundry service operates based on bulk weight, meaning all soiled textiles are collected and processed together, without separating by individual item type. On average, we send out approximately 3,000 pounds of soiled linen per day, totaling around 14,000 to 15,000 pounds per week. While we cannot break this down by specific item, we hope this provides a useful reference point for estimating service needs.
