NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE

Project Title: Nurse Call Repair Parts Announcement No.: 36C24622Q0945 The Government hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source Firm-Fixed-Price, open market, purchase order for commercial-of-the-shelf (COTS) refurbished nurse call station replacement parts to Anacom MedTek. These replacement parts are manufactured by Rauland for the Responder IV. The Responder IV is no longer supported by the manufacturer and the parts are needed to keep the system running for our in-patient Veterans. The total estimated value is $111,439.25.

Market research was conducted through searches of Government databases and a sources sought notice posted on contracting opportunities 36C24622Q0945. Sources sought notice was posted on 8/7/2022 with a closing date of 8/11/2022 with only 1 response received offering another system and not the requested items. A search of GSA Advantage and Veterans Affairs VIP database yielded no replacement parts for this system.

Responses to this notice must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not be cost or time prohibitive, and would not hinder the mission objective of the Durham VAMC.

The determination not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice.

This is not a request for quote or proposals.
